Job Title: School Nurse

Overview:

Selmaville CCSD 10 seeks a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our team. As a School Nurse, you will play a crucial role in promoting the health and well-being of our students, providing essential medical care, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct health assessments and screenings for students, including vision, hearing, and growth monitoring.

  • Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed.

  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.

  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic health conditions.

  • Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics and preventive measures.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrator, and other personnel to promote a healthy school environment.

  • Maintains accurate health records and documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in school-wide health promotion initiatives and activities.

  • Serve as a liaison between the school, community health agencies, and medical providers.

  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school nursing and health care.

Qualifications:

  • A valid nursing license. 

  • Current CPR and first aid certification.

  • Previous experience in school nursing is preferred.

  • Strong assessment, clinical, and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
