Selmaville School is rallying students, families, and the broader community for a month-long food drive aimed at supporting the Selmaville Food Cabinet and helping local families in need.
The food drive, which runs from April 8 through May 8, encourages donations of essential pantry and hygiene items. Organizers are asking contributors to bring unopened, non-expired items to ensure all donations are safe and ready for distribution.
Items most needed include:
Canned foods and soups
Peanut butter and jelly
Pasta, rice, cereal, and oatmeal
Hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, and toothpaste
To inspire participation, Selmaville School has added a fun incentive: the class that donates the most items will win a pizza party. School leaders hope this friendly competition will motivate students to get involved while learning the importance of giving back.
“This is a great opportunity for our students to make a real difference in their community,” organizers shared. “Every donation, big or small, helps support families right here in Selmaville.”
The initiative highlights the school’s ongoing commitment to service and community engagement. With rising needs in many households, the Selmaville Food Cabinet plays a vital role in providing food and basic necessities to those facing hardship.
Community members are encouraged to participate and help make the drive a success. As the campaign slogan reminds everyone: “Every donation makes a difference.”
